Mission Statement

Our mission is to serve youth and families confronting homelessness. We provide access to stable housing and deliver comprehensive services that act as a catalyst to transform lives and communities.

About This Cause

Since 2002, La Casa Norte (LCN) has served over 30,000 individuals through our housing and social service programs. LCN services reach across the Chicagoland area, primarily in the West and South sides of the City. Our clients are extremely low-income individuals, most of whom live below the federal poverty line and many are unemployed or underemployed. All of LCN's clients are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. La Casa Norte provides clients with consistently high quality, clinically informed services and programs. Key services within our Continuum of Care (CoC) consist of outreach, emergency shelter, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, stabilization, prevention, financial education and a youth in college initiative. LCN works to quickly stabilize our clients’ housing situations and offer services to help youth and families regain their footing and realize their full potential. In December 2019, LCN completed its first full year in our new five-story Community Center. The new facility co-locates our administrative and program offices along with 25 units of supportive housing, a nutrition center, health center, and drop-in space for youth. This Community Center will be an anchor of redevelopment for Chicago’s west side community and the North Avenue corridor. This project is the first of its kind in Chicago and the region, and serves as an example for future innovative programming.
