The mission of The Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF) is to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising research.

About This Cause

Established by Betsy Peterson in 1996, The Children’s Heart Foundation is the leading organization solely committed to fund congenital heart research. Congenital heart defects are the most commonly-occurring birth defect, affecting nearly 1 in 110 children born in the U.S., or a child born approximately every 15 minutes. The goal of the foundation is to research that saves, extends and improves the lives of Heart Warriors and families impacted by congenital heart defects, the most common birth defect in the United States. This objective is accomplished by funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects. The Children's Heart Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) tax‐exempt charitable organization that does not receive any government funding.
