The Chicago Bungalow Association equips homeowners with energy efficiency programs and educational resources to maintain, preserve, and adapt their Chicago bungalows and vintage homes, thereby strengthening the neighborhoods they anchor.
About This Cause
We're here to help you maintain, preserve and adapt your older home! While your bungalow or older home has endured the test of time, you may be looking to repair elements that haven't held up or renovate areas that don't suit your modern lifestyle. We are a non-profit delegate agency of the City of Chicago here to help our members: - Remedy common problems affecting older homes - Practically preserve your largest investment before damage occurs - Redesign your home to fit your style while maintaining its historic charm - Save money and extend the life of your home by making it energy efficient Become a member for free to access these free resources: - Free Energy Saving Home Improvements - Free Educational Seminars & Webinars - Trusted Referrals Business Directory (with exclusive Member Offers) - Participation in the annual Bungalow Garden Contest (cash prizes for winners!) - Participation in the annual Driehaus Bungalow Awards (cash prizes for winners!) - and more! *Chicago Bungalow Association is the fiscal sponsor of unBlocked Englewood, a collaborative project with artist Tonika Lewis Johnson.* unBlocked Englewood is an ongoing project that began in 2023, that aims to repair homes and combat disinvestment on one Englewood block as a form of public art. unBlocked Englewood is in the process of beautifying and revitalizing 22 vacant lots and 24 residential buildings, aiding about 75 residents in the process.
