Mission Statement
We are the Sequoyah Instrumental Music Foundation. Our mission is to support the Sequoyah High School Bands and Orchestra, and all groups within, its directors, instructional staff, and student members in developing a comprehensive instrumental music program that meets the needs of individuals, ensembles within the program, and directors. We have created an organization where participation is not based on affordability; there is no “pay to play”. We accomplish this goal by providing the Sequoyah High School Instrumental Music Program with supplemental funding through private and corporate tax-deductible donations and fund-raising efforts. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia pursuant to the Georgia Non-profit Corporate Code and is organized exclusively for charitable, literary and educational purposes including the distribution of funds to organizations that qualify under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
About This Cause
One of our goals for the upcoming year is to build a financial base for the Sequoyah Instrumental Music Foundation (a 501(c)(3) corporation) to offer fee grants for students with financial needs that will allow them to continue their full participation in the instrumental music program. The ‘SIMF’ will also offer financial support for additional instruction, music and equipment to help supplement the school instrumental budget.
