About This Cause
Malachi House II is a 9-month residential faith based Non- Profit recovery program, with the mission to “to restore the lives of men and their families to strengthen our community”, as well as, provide the tools needed to become successful in every area of their lives. This Program is designed to reach out to men who are recovering from life-controlling issues such as drug and alcohol addiction. The Malachi House II program is offered to men from all walks of life regardless of race, creed, religion or socio-economic background. The Malachi House II program focuses on sustained recovery, character building, vocational training, job-readiness and job search skills, remedial and advanced education and parenting education. Some of the classes offered include customer focus, anger management and relapse prevention. When a participant enters Malachi House II, he not only receives food, clothing and shelter, he also embarks on a journey that will assist him in spiritual development, expanding his education, obtaining new job skills and developing a positive work resume'. All of these measures are necessary to ensure that each student receives the spiritual, emotional, physical and vocational training required to overcome the problems that can lead to addiction. Our desire is to give men hope, as well as to provide them with tools needed to overcome chemical dependency and become successful in every aspect of their lives. This Program serves upward of 300 Men per year with a graduation rate of 68%. A Survey of 51 participants who graduate at least one year ago showed: • 75% were substance free (national average is less than 25%) • 88% were working (78% were working full-time) • 71% received pay increases • 90% were crime free We want to let the community know that there is a place, which can help men change their lives. Along with spreading drug awareness and helping to uplift the lives of the men in our program, this program helps all who enter.
