Renewal Center for Battered Women Ministries, Inc. Is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded and established in 2011, in Greensboro, North Carolina. We are located in the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship: 1451 S. Elm-Eugene St. Greensboro, NC 27406 Service Requirements: Services can not be denied based on client's age( client must be of legal age 18), race, creed, gender identity, sexual and or religious orientation, immigration status, or disability, or national origin.
About This Cause
Mission Statement Renewal Center for Battered Women Ministries is dedicated to serve clients by helping to remove distress of domestic violence through education, counseling, guidance and assistance in making better life choices with practical applications. History As with most endeavors this venture started with an idea, a thought, an inspiration born out of my personal experiences with domestic violence and my professional experience in working with families in domestic violence, and crises situations. As a social worker I worked hard with my clients to keep them out of “the system” meaning that their children would not go into foster care or a group home. Then one evening I had an ahh moment! People have to be renewed in their minds before positive lasting behaviors can be effective in their lives. In working with most clients to correct the behavior they gladly received the information, corrected the behavior and in due course the case was closed. However, there were others who receive the same type information, but it didn’t benefit them because they did not put the information to work in their lives. In time they became part of the” revolving door syndrome”, meaning about, every three to six months they were back in the systems regarding more or less the same issues: domestic violence, child abuse and neglect of their children or some other issue. This writer knew that some people needed more intense work in order to gain from the information given; they needed more than surface work they needed to be renewed in their minds. These people needed their minds renewed to receive new positive life changing information that would replace the old information in their minds. Therefore, after many years of working with families in crises the idea of a renewal center for battered women was envisioned. By education, counseling, life coaching support, guidance and practical application a person could change their behaviors. As functioning, productive people we are forever learning, acquiring knowledge and new skills. Renewing the mind is a day to day process. While the mind is being renewed constructive changes can take place in how one thinks and act toward domestic violence: as the mind thinks so the body acts. For a person to be delivered from domestic violence, or any other negative behavior in their lives the person must have a changed mind, if not, they will gravitate back to the same type situations and personalities. If you are a victim/survivor or even a perpetrator of domestic violence, child abuse or sexual abuse, or any other negative behavior, or just want to change some areas of your life then this center will be of a benefit for you. Our Services are Community Education through: Life Coaching and Support D. V. training Work Shop Sex abuse education Rape education Empowerment education Faith community GIFTS Program services: Community Education. Services are geared to address the diversity of population in our area, our organization offer training programs to address domestic violence, rape education, and life coaching and support. Our organization offers workshops, training education to independent living facilities, and faith communities. Organization also offers one-on-one counseling to clients. We work with client where they are in life. We believe that the client is the best authority on the issues surrounding their lives. We help them to discover the best way to resolve concerns, using the best alternatives available to them. Catharsis support group is for those who prefer group setting. Catharsis This self-help support group assists you in moving from being wounded to being healed through spiritual, social and practical support. We help to instill in you five beneficial factors: better perspective of self; hope for your situation; acceptance of self; helping others; you are not alone in your struggles. GIFTS Our organization is also starting an after-school program for our young people in the community.
