Mission Statement

We advocate for pluralism, civil rights, and human rights for all in South Asia and North America.

About This Cause

Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR) is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit nonpartisan organization founded in 2019. We advocate for pluralism, civil rights, and human rights in South Asia and North America, rooted in the values of our Hindu faith: shanti (peace), nyaya (justice), and satya (truth). We provide a Hindu voice of resistance to caste, Hindutva (Hindu nationalism), racism, and all forms of bigotry and oppression. Our vision is a world defined by lokasangraha (the universal common good) — where there is peace among all people, and our planet is honored and protected. We work with a broad coalition of partners to educate elected officials and the public in North America about civil and human rights issues in South Asia. Our advocacy takes many forms, including government briefings, peaceful protests, op-eds, webinars, conferences, and social media mobilization. We have members and chapters in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, and beyond.
