Mission Statement

The mission of Avenues to Independence is to put aside old ideas abut what is possible. We work in partnership with the community to support and encourage people with developmental disabilities to lead the lives they choose. Our success will eventually be measured by how little we are needed.

About This Cause

We are a non-profit charity serving developmentally disabled adults primarily in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. We provide job placement services, some residential housing, a workcenter, home-based facilitation and other services. We have been serving clients since 1953.
