About This Cause
We are anchored in a faith-based tradition more than 90 years strong. Through our combined size, geographic reach and broad portfolio of services, Samaritas sends ripples of positive change out into Michigan communities, one person at a time. Samaritas has been Compassion in Action serving Michigan’s most vulnerable residents. With your help, we are able to continue our core services: • Putting children and families first by helping families to thrive • Creating paths to recovery with mental health and addiction services • Providing peace and opportunities for refugees • Building community stability through emergency and affordable housing solutions As the most well-known private foster care and adoption organization in Michigan, Samaritas provides a continuum of care through reunification and family preservation, foster care and adoption services with an intentional shift to serve more families to help prevent separation. Samaritas provides critical Family Preservation services enabling us to intervene to keep children safe, and families healthy and whole. Legacy Adoption Services- helps more than 300 children annually find a loving forever family. Through these programs, Samaritas helps thousands of Michigan children find temporary homes where they can feel safe, secure and loved. Samaritas provides Mental Health and Addiction Services for those who struggle with the impact of drugs and alcohol through individual and group counseling, medication assisted treatment, case management and recovery coaching for adolescents and adults. ding ripples of positive change. With a history as one of the largest refugee resettlement organizations in Michigan, Samaritas welcomes new arriving refugees. We work to ensure they are no longer defined by what has happened to them but by who they are and all they have the potential to be. Samaritas is committed to providing emergency and affordable housing options - with16 Affordable Living Communities throughout the state serving families, seniors, and people with disabilities.
