Mission Statement

The Christ Child Society of Detroit is a nonprofit organization of members dedicated in service to children in need.

About This Cause

The Christ Child Society of Detroit exists to promote the well-being of disadvantaged children. We do this in several ways, first through the maintenance of Christ Child House, a residential facility in the City of Detroit for special needs children (approximately 20 children between the age of 7 and 17) where we also provide recreational activities and therapy for the children, as well as other outreach services in the Southeast Michigan area. These outreach services relate to providing layettes (nearly 2000 in 2017) to mothers in need, bereavement gowns for infants (gowns are hand-made by our members), in addition to several literacy programs which includes reading to children and giving books to children to promote reading and end the cycle of poverty. Our membership is made up entirely of 400 volunteers in the Southeast Michigan area, who donate their time and talent to these children and these outreach services.
