The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is one of only 53 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States. NCI-designated cancer centers are at the forefront of developing and translating scientific knowledge from promising laboratory discoveries into new treatments for cancer patients.
