About This Cause
The Older Americans Act of 1965 created federal, state, and local agencies and developed programs to help older adults maintain their health and independence in their homes and communities. WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging in Jackson County is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization serving Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee Counties. WellWise Services identifies the needs of older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers and meets their needs through a system of in-home and community services that enable people to maintain their independence and dignity. WellWise Services administers state, local, and private funds to support services, such as home-delivered meals, personal care, transportation, and housing services. WellWise Services connects participants with vital community support such as adult day services, congregate meals, access to legal assistance, counseling services, or making an appropriate referral to other agencies.
