Mission Statement
The Community Foundation of Greater Rochester manages over 160 funds including Blessings In A Backpack funds that support programs in 16 school districts. $100 buys 6 meals for every weekend during the school year, addressing hunger insecurity.
About This Cause
The Community Foundation of Greater Rochester is a tax exempt, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization supported by private donations rather than municipal dollars. Gifts to the Community Foundation are used to establish and grow permanent funds for the benefit of the communities it serves. Its primary purpose is accepting, processing and managing donations and making grants from those donations in support of programs that serve the public. By pooling contributions, the Community Foundations can make more impactful grants ensuring that donors of all means – individuals, families and businesses – can make a long-lasting difference in their community.
