Mission Statement

Founded in 1987, Worldwide Christian Schools’ (now Tent Schools International) vision is that one day all children will have access to affordable primary and secondary education regardless of circumstance, religion, ethnicity or ability to learn. We do this by equipping schools with financial and other resources to ensure even the most marginalized children can achieve their potentials through a quality education. As of 2015, our focus is assisting schools for refugees with support funds and technology. We work through partners internationally and with refugee placements within the USA.

About This Cause

From 1987 - 2015, Worldwide Christian Schools’ history has been to engage directly in delivering educational services such as constructing school buildings, conducting teacher training and providing sponsorship for children in greatest need of financial assistance. Since its founding, WWCS has conducted projects in 44 countries, impacting over 700,000 children and teachers. Renamed Tent Schools International, in 2015, we transitioned to a more supportive, coaching role with our international partners. Funds used included school start-up support in refugee camps or settings focused on educating students displaced by natural disasters or conflict outside of camps. We also supply laptop computers through our LEAP program to teachers and organizations setting up computer training labs for refugees to learn marketable tech skills. Within the USA, we partner with agencies which resettle displaced persons through our LEAP computer program to insure access to technology is available in newly-arrived family homes to assist in the family's educational and communication needs. Resource projects include our books, “The Inclusive Classroom” a guide for classroom teachers to effectively reach and teach children with disabilities, and, "Beyond PTSD" a teacher's guide to understanding the causes, symptoms and methods for helping students traumatized by experiences in conflict or disaster areas. A new title will be released and available on Amazon later this year on the topic of Nature Therapy. These titles are written by expert therapists in these fields and are full of no-cost, classroom exercises and activities to assist students with learning disabilities or who have been hindered in their educational progress through PTSD or other disorders.
