Mission Statement
To provide safe shelter, independence, empowerment and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking while seeking to end violence against individuals and their families through promoting social change, community education and public awareness in our community.
About This Cause
LACADA is committed to: 1. Providing safe shelter and support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. 2. Helping survivors identify their options and discover their strengths, while providing information, referrals and positive empowering support in a compassionate environment that respects each individual’s right to self determination. 3. Advocating for the rights of survivors while actively working to make positive changes in societal responses to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking that includes advocating within the criminal justice system and holding assailants accountable for the abuse. 4. Serving our community by providing community education, outreach and public awareness about LACADA’s services, information and education on domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking along with promoting social change that addresses the existing imbalance of power within violent relationships. 5. Connecting with community systems that come into contact with survivors and working to ensure that survivor’s needs are met effectively and sensitively.
