Mission Statement
Faith Church of Grand Rapids is a small inner city church with large reach. We work locally with our neighborhood children (at risk youth) as well as downtown Grand Rapids in our homeless district. We also are very actively invested in missions across the globe.
About This Cause
Faith Church of Grand Rapids is a non profit with a large heart and community mind. We do consistent work in our local community with at risk teens and children through various outreach programs. We also are actively involved in our local homeless community and each year walk the streets of our city giving away wrapped Christmas gifts to both homeless adults and children. Most of the children and young people in our church come from single family homes, are being raised by a grandparent, have a parent on drugs or in prison, etc. These children are at risk. We give them a safe place and activities to be involved in that will set them on a path of success. The congregation at Faith Church is not full of wealthy people, but the amount of good we are able to do with what we have is astounding. We believe in banding together to reach and impact our community. Internationally, we support several mission ventures from India and Sri Lanka, to Dominican Republic in Mexico. Through our mission branch, AMA, we have already helped build a school for poor children in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and sponsor children to attend that school each year. We have helped raise funds to build a youth center in the Ukraine, as well as donated 15 beds and mattresses to an orphanage in India, getting the children off the ground and away from potential snake bites. Currently we are raising support and assembling a team to build a community center in one of the poorest areas in Guadalajara, Mexico. AMA's goal is to reach into the small existing missions on the ground level and launch them into a greater scope of influence. Because, Faith Church is a small community church who's efforts are influential and far reaching, we know that the small community efforts are just a important. Our partners in other countries have created deep and trusting connections with their communities. Every venture we pour into already has volunteers and leadership in place to continue the work, we are only launching them to a new level. A group of three of us traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico in September to meet with our partners and scope out the project. We covered all of our own expenses. No overhead or administrative costs are every taken from any donations made. Everything from administration, logistical planning, and graphic design is donated by faithful members of our congregation.
