Mission Statement

The mission of The Grand Rapids Red Project is to improve health, reduce risk, and prevent HIV. We believe it is a basic human right that people have access to the knowledge, tools, information, and support that they need to stay healthy, and we seek to provide this access through our programming aimed at addressing HIV, hepatitis C, overdose, and substance use. More to the point, we seek to empower individuals to begin making any positive change in their own lives as they define that change for themselves. Red Project accomplishes our mission through our programming offered in the community. We provide syringe access services, rapid HIV and hepatitis C testing, overdose prevention and response training, support groups, and access to HIV care and case management. In all our activities, we maintain a premium on meeting the client where they are at, providing options for how the client can improve their lives, and then supporting the client in whichever route they choose to pursue.

About This Cause

The Grand Rapids Red Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving health, reducing risk, and preventing HIV. Since 1998, we have served the city of Grand Rapids by providing people with access to the tools, information, resources, and support that they need to stay healthy. We maintain a focus on empowering individuals to make any positive change, as they define it for themselves, in their own lives and in their communities. We envision a world in which everyone has access to the health related services that they need, when and where they need them.
