Mission Statement
Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) is the ONLY program that provides human hair replacement completely FREE of charge to children ages 2-21 who suffer hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, burns, and other diseases/disorders that result in hair loss. We continue to provide human hair replacements, care kits, education, and support to these children once a year until they turn 21.

"Covering Young Heads to Heal Young Hearts"TM CWHL's mission is to help children who suffer from hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, burns, trichotillomania, and many other medical hair loss reason. We are dedicated to changing the lives of as many children by improving their outlook and empowering them with self-confidence necessary to face the world. When children loose their hair, they loose far more than the hair itself. They loose self-esteem, self-confidence, and the feeling of being normal, they endure stares and teasing, they begin to dread social interaction of any kind -- play dates, participating in sports, playing outside, running errands, participating in school events -- any activity that makes them feel vulnerable. Some refuse to go to school, others attend school but otherwise stay inside, and many sink into depression. When children receive a hair replacement, the impact is immediate and life changing. They begin to feel good about the way they look and feel like they fit in again with their peers. Those who had stopped attending school,return and get involved in learning, friends, and activities. Those who had buried themselves inside to avoid embarrassment and teasing resume an active life style. Those who sank into depression begin to feel positive about themselves. Insurance rarely covers hair replacement, leaving many families too financially strapped due to medical bills and other factors to pay for hair replacement, yet they desperately want their child to lead the happiest and most normal life possible. The free human hair replacement products, services, education, and support that CWHL provides are essential to the healing process and reduce the long-term social, emotional, and behavioral health problems frequently experienced by children who suffer hair loss.
