About This Cause
Camara Education is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to improving digital literacy and life opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged children in Africa. We partner with organisations to repurpose their IT equipment, converting it into high-quality refurbished computers that are then provided to schools across Africa, empowering students with the tools they need to succeed. Since 2005, we have installed centres in 13,000 schools, trained 70,000 teachers how to use them efficiently, and provided digital literacy opportunities to an estimated 4.8 million children. Camara currently operates through four Education Hubs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, and Tanzania. All Hubs operate as not-for-profit social enterprises.
