Mission Statement
Awaken is a Christian non-profit organization based in Reno, Nevada. Our mission is to increase awareness and education surrounding the issue of sexual exploitation, and to provide housing and restoration for its victims. Our vision is to create a restorative community that includes physical, mental and spiritual care, education and employment opportunities, and transitional homes for those seeking to begin a new life.
About This Cause
Awaken offers pro-bono services to women affected by commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) and sex trafficking. Along with providing direct services, Awaken accomplishes its mission through advocacy and community outreach. Last year alone we reached more than 4,000 people through 39 different events. We also reached over fifteen hundred youth through our prevention efforts through in-class lessons on modern day slavery in 5 schools.
