Mission Statement
The Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired promotes the dignity and empowerment of people in Wisconsin who are blind or visually impaired. We provide vision services, a variety of educational opportunities, and advocate legislatively for the rights of people with low vision.
About This Cause
Founded in 1952, the Council focused on advocacy issues related to establishing and protecting the rights of people who are blind or visually impaired. Our services have since expanded to include in-home vision rehabilitation, low vision evaluations, educational webinars, technology training, and providing assistive devices. Our Sharper Vision Store is located in Madison, Wisconsin, where we offer hundreds of products for those with vision loss including magnifiers, cooking utensils, braille paper, large print products, and talking devices (clocks, watches, scales, thermometers, etc.). All adaptive products are also available on our website.
