Mission Statement
Today, the mission of The Ridges is to protect the Sanctuary and inspire stewardship of natural areas through programs of education, outreach and research. We believe we will be the center for Environmental Stewardship. Every day, the staff, members, volunteers and visitors ensure the mission is incorporated in all we do.
About This Cause
In 1937, The Ridges Sanctuary became Wisconsin’s first land trust. Since then it has been an integral part of the rich, natural setting of the Baileys Harbor community and the Door County Peninsula. Founded to preserve the original 30 acre parcel, The Ridges has grown thoughtfully and strategically to ensure the protection of the most biologically diverse ecosystem in Wisconsin.
