About This Cause
Since 1987, the Eau Claire Area Hmong Mutual Assistance Association (ECAHMAA) has been dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the Hmong community in the Eau Claire area. We empower individuals and families through comprehensive support services, advocacy for justice, and cultural preservation. We are committed to providing essential assistance to victims of domestic violence and crime, supporting Hmong youth and elders, and fostering community resilience. Programs and Services: Support for Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Crime Victims: We provide crucial support for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. Our services include counseling, legal advocacy, and crisis intervention to assist individuals in their journey towards recovery and justice. Youth Programs: Our initiatives for Hmong youth include educational support, mentoring, and leadership development. We aim to promote academic success, cultural pride, and personal growth through a variety of enrichment programs. Elder Support Services: We offer a range of services for Hmong elders, including social activities, health and wellness programs, and assistance with accessing community resources. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for seniors and honor their cultural heritage. Culturally Specific Food Pantry: Our food pantry provides culturally relevant food items to meet the dietary needs and preferences of the Hmong community. We strive to ensure that families have access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food. Affordable Housing Program: We assist individuals and families in finding affordable housing options. Our program focuses on reducing housing insecurity and providing stable living conditions through various resources and support. Interpretation Services: We offer interpretation services to overcome language barriers and facilitate effective communication between Hmong community members and service providers. Our aim is to ensure that everyone has access to essential services and resources. Special Events: ECAHMAA is proud to be the hosts and partners of cultural events such as the Hmong New Year, Eau Claire HmongFest, Hmong Youth Day, Multi Cultural Festival, and many more to celebrate, continue our heritage, and share with our community. Impact and Achievements: Over the years, ECAHMAA has made a profound impact in the Eau Claire area. We have served hundreds of families through our food pantry, supported numerous individuals in finding affordable housing, and provided vital assistance to victims of domestic violence and crime. Our youth and elder programs have fostered community growth and cultural preservation. Target Beneficiaries: Our services primarily benefit Hmong individuals and families in the Eau Claire area.
