Mission Statement
Community Work Services is guided by the belief that all people have value and that supporting individuals with disabilities to actively participate in all aspects of community life results in a more diverse, compassionate and stronger community for everyone. With that as a foundation, the agency works in partnership with employers to make a positive difference in the lives of the people we support by helping them find and keep individually meaningful community jobs.
About This Cause
Community Work Services is a non-profit agency that provides supports to adults with developmental disabilities at their places of employment in the community. The individuals that Community Work Services provides supports to have a wide range of varying disabilities, including physical, cognitive and/or emotional disabilities. Based on each individuals' abilities, they receive the appropriate support from vocational staff to help them be successful at their places of employment. When needed, Community Work Services staff will also assist in finding new jobs for individuals, help to expand their variety of work tasks, quality check their completed work, provide lunch time support, provide personal cares while at work, provide transportation between jobs as needed, act as a liaison between employer/co-workers to help bridge relationships, and whatever else is needed to enhance each individuals work experience.
