Our mission: We lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
About This Cause
The Foundation provides programs and services that: EDUCATE the community about seizures and epilepsy to reduce the stigma surrounding epilepsy. EFMN has nationally-recognized programs that educate: Seizure Smart Schools, Seizure Recognition & Response Training and Seizure Smart Communities. Together we can make the communities, schools and workplaces of the 60,000 people in our community with epilepsy “seizure smart” to end discrimination and stigma. CONNECT people with epilepsy to others, and to resources. Epilepsy impacts entire families, workplaces and classrooms. These programs connect people to others to reduce isolation: Connect Groups, Shining Stars and Information & Referral. Together we can help people with epilepsy make connections with others to find comfort that they are not alone. EMPOWER people living with epilepsy. Living with epilepsy entails managing social challenges, medication side effects and fears of discrimination. These programs restore a sense of control to people who must contend with the unpredictability of seizures: Advocacy, Camp Oz and Creative Arts. Together we empower people with epilepsy to become self-advocates and lead their best lives.
