Mission Statement
The mission of ILCM is to enhance opportunities for immigrants and refugees through legal representation for low-income individuals, and through education and advocacy with diverse communities.
About This Cause
The Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM) is a nonprofit provider of legal services for low-income immigrants. ILCM is the only legal services agency in Minnesota that is able to provide comprehensive immigration services at little or no cost to low-income immigrants throughout the state, regardless of their nationality or legal status. Over the past decades, ILCM has steadily expanded both the volume and diversity of its legal services to address the increasing demand for immigration assistance in Minnesota. In addition to providing legal services, ILCM also educates immigrant and nonimmigrant communities about immigration matters, and is a leader in legislative advocacy, especially in the area of comprehensive immigration reform. ILCM’s goals in support of its mission are: -To remedy legal problems by providing quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees of all nationalities; -To prevent legal problems by providing law-related education to immigrants and refugees of all nationalities; and -To raise public awareness of immigration issues so as to encourage public policy that is both compassionate and practical, and protects the universal human rights of immigrants and refugees.
