About This Cause
Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) is the leading provider and champion of women’s health care across Minnesota. 1 in 5 women in our region has turned to us at some point in her life for professional, nonjudgmental, confidential care. Each year we serve nearly 70,000 women, men, and teens with compassionate, expert care. More than 95 percent of what we provide is preventive health services, including lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention, testing and treatment of STDs, breast health services, sexual health education, information and accurate, nonjudgmental health counseling. Along with working to keep our community healthy, we provide comprehensive, evidence-based education to more than 34,000 people each year. Through peer education and lay health advisor programs, parent-child programming and community outreach events, we encourage communication between teens and their parents and offer participants the tools to educate and empower their own communities. We also advocate for public health policies that protect and promote women’s access to health care in Minnesota.
