Our vision is that all youth are valued for who they are and realize their potential. Our mission is to advance economic and health equity for youth while providing support, access to resources, and opportunities as they build on their strengths and achieve their aspirations.
About This Cause
Face to Face opened in 1972 as a volunteer-run walk-in crisis counseling and reproductive health clinic for youth. In 1994, at the request of the State of Minnesota and Ramsey County, we opened SafeZone, our drop-in center and day shelter for youth experiencing homelessness. Today we continue to support youth ages 11-24 through six core service areas: 1) medical care 2) mental health 3) housing 4) education and employment 5) youth justice 6) community programs Through these services we invest in the lives of young people and help them pursue their dreams and aspirations despite the obstacles they face. All our services are infused with comprehensive, wraparound support. Young people are navigating multiple challenges simultaneously – our breadth of services allows us to take a whole-person approach, and enables young people to get what they need in one place. We serve young people who face challenges such as housing instability, histories of trauma, lack of preventive health care, mental health concerns, human trafficking, and more. We engage youth from their strengths and provide supportive relationships that have a positive impact on their development. Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and rooted in evidence-based practice. Face to Face is a lifeline for youth in our community. When young people get the tangible and relational support they need, they are able to make tremendous strides toward building the lives they want for themselves. Face to Face is able to invest in the lives of young people through the support of individuals, foundations, businesses, and public funding.
