Mission Statement
Seward Child Care Center (SCCC) is a small, cooperative child care center that was started by parents in 1973. Over 40 years later, teachers now run the center collectively, without a center director. Our unique governance structure includes a Board of parent directors as well as a Co-op Facilitator.
About This Cause
Seward Child Care Center helps children learn and develop by providing democracy, anti-bias skills and environmental awareness since it was founded by parents in 1973.We use a developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes areas of social and emotional development, language, literacy and communication, physical and motor skills, cognition and artistic creativity. We provide a respectful, safe and nurturing environment while fostering a democratic environment for all. This program offers full time or part time care for 24 preschoolers and 6 toddlers.
