We believe that impacting kids with all abilities and their families with positive and powerful life lessons is the most effective way to develop better leaders building stronger communities. PROGRAMS INCLUDE: 18 programs offering 300+ classes per week Adaptive Gymnastics Program Mini-Hops Gymnastics is dedicated to meeting the needs of all individuals ages 6 months to adults. Our program is created to provide an environment that makes it possible for EVERY individual to achieve and succeed. Movement is a fundamental necessity for positive physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth. No matter what challenges participants face, our staff works diligently to help them overcome those barriers. We also partner with local school districts to provide an opportunity for students with disabilities to enjoy physical activity in a safe and educational environment by participating in our Adaptive Open Gym Program. Special Olympics- Mini-Hops is home to the largest Special Olympics Gymnastics team in Minnesota. Special Olympics Minnesota trains and certifies our community volunteer coaches, half of whom are youth. These coaches provide free instruction for the athletes, while Mini Hops provides accessibility to our facility for two hours every Saturday at a time where there are minimal sensory distractions. Several competitions are also hosted by Mini-Hops each year allowing these athletes to compete on the best equipment in the Twin Cities. Scholarships- Mini-Hops offers up to $40,000 per year in scholarships to children who would not otherwise be able to participate in the sport of gymnastics. The scholarship program currently has no outside funding sources. Community Donations- “The Spirit of Giving” - Mini-Hops provides thousands of dollars in gift certificates to numerous local churches, schools, and organizations to be auctioned at their carnivals and fund-raisers. We take part in Treats for Troops as well and "Santa for Seniors". Mini-Hoppers Preschool- Movement Education/Gymnastics Designed for ages 12 months to 5 years of age, preschool programs include tailored strength/coordination training and gymnastics skill progression. Constant encouragement and appropriately timed praise, lead to success. Children conquer fears and develop a willingness to attempt new and challenging tasks. Low teacher to student ratios, 1:6, facilitates focus on the holistic development of each child. Progressive Artistic Gymnastics Program- Boys & Girls This progressive program follows a carefully designed curriculum with a 1:8 ratio of skill progression starting with beginners of any age. Its focus is on developing self-confident, physically fit young people with high self-esteem. Athletes develop the courage to challenge themselves and the ability to celebrate accomplishments from a strong sense of self and team. Trampoline and Tumbling Trampoline is a useful and fun tool for developing spatial awareness. Students participating in this program will initially learn simple trampoline skills, then progress to putting skills into combinations to build a routine. They practice safety techniques and proper use of the trampoline to facilitate safe use of trampolines inside and outside of the gym. The trampoline skills learned will aid in the development of all levels of tumbling skills. Freestyle Freestyle gymnastics classes, offered for boys 10 years old and up, will incorporate many gymnastics spin-off activities such as Parkour, Freerunning, Tricking, Cross Training and “Ninja Warrior”, in a safe and fun training environment. Performing Arts Program This program follows a curriculum as well with a 1:10 ratio of skill progression. This program’s curriculum is fun but challenging and introduces Rhythmic gymnastics, performing, acting, dance and team work through fun technical movement activities with simple to more complicated performing arts. The lessons include learning technically correct basics in singing, playing instruments, dance, theater, etc. The development of artistry is a major component of this class. Adult Class Programming We offer programming for adults ranging from 18-year-olds who are freshmen at university, to seniors who want to use gymnastics to keep active. Our adult gymnastics class includes flexibility, strength training, and some time for learning other gymnastics skills. Alongside this, we offer yoga for ages 13 and up. This class begins with a warm up and then moves into a flow that challenges strength, balance and flexibility. Competitive Team Boys & Girls Pre- Team and Team Programs (MHG) provide an avenue for gymnasts with high athletic aspiration to grow in a program where they can achieve their maximum potential. Boys’ and girls’ teams travel all over the United States and locally to gain competitive experience, along with a lifetime of fond memories. Athletes are selected and invited to enter Pre-Team or Team when they are recommended by their Mini-Hops instructor for possessing the ability to comprehend and execute more complex instructions, the aptitude to listen to and follow directions leading to independent work, the drive and motivation required to challenge themselves to excel, and the additional strength required to perform higher level gymnastics skills. Team prepares these special athletes for a long-lasting future in gymnastics- college and beyond. Xcel Competitive Team Program Upon consistent participation in the Progressive program, athletes with the desire to experience competition without the year-round commitment and the expense of the USAG competitive team, can be invited to compete in the USAG Xcel Program. This program is a modified team program that is recreational in nature, with an emphasis on fun and participation. Special Events- Camps KidVenture consists of day camps during the summer and holiday breaks. Four to eight-hour camps offer an alternative to the Mini-Hops class programs where students spend time with our qualified instructors who help them to develop and build gymnastics skills, lead small and large group activities, get crafty, build strength and friendships. Academic Preschool Begin Here & All is Possible. Our belief is that all children learn best through play, peer interactions and daily experiences. Founded in 2011, Mini-Hops’ Academic Preschool provides an educational experience through play and social interaction for students 33 months – 5 years old. Experienced teachers and staff encourage young children’s natural curiosity for exploring and learning new things while integrating structured educational activities. The creative environment of our academic preschool captures attention and provides the springboard for teaching important life skills and beyond through the sport of gymnastics. Children benefit greatly from activities led in our 30,000 square foot gymnastics area. The development of the whole child: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical is our priority. A strong correlation exists between a child’s early experiences and success later in life. We strive to make every child’s experience here one that will last a lifetime! Mini-Hops is a self-sufficient business, running as a 501c3, nonprofit organization. A Board of Directors, consisting of 8 business professionals from the community oversee the financial aspects, and help determine how generated revenue will be used. Revenue is typically distributed amongst continued program development, staff education, improving facilities, employee benefits (health, dental, 401K, tiered- tuition discounts, PTO, paid holidays, employer paid education and certifications), and purchasing state of the art equipment.
