Mission Statement
Founded in 1981, MinnSARDA is the oldest canine search and rescue unit in the state of Minnesota. We are a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides trained dog/handler teams to respond to public safety requests in the event of a missing person. Teams are capable of working in both wilderness and urban settings. - Live searches o Trailing/tracking teams o Air scent teams - Cadaver searches o Land cadaver teams o Field support All field teams must meet unit training standards including - NASAR SARTECH II designation - Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR certification - NIMS certifications (National Incident Management Systems) - Unit certification testing in base camp support and field support - K9 teams must recertify annually in each of their specialties with outside organizations - K9 teams are required to pass the American Kennel Club’s (AKC’s) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification before attempting field certification.
