Mission Statement

The goal of THE AMERICAN CHESTNUT FOUNDATION is to restore the American Chestnut tree to our eastern woodlands to benefit our environment, our wildlife, and our society.

About This Cause

Using backcross breeding and other scientific methods, breed/develop a blight resistant tree that can be reintroduced into the native range of the American Chestnut. The objective of the foundation is the restoration of the American Chestnut tree.
