Mission Statement
Our mission: Help pets in need in our community and surrounding areas through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter, and community outreach.
About This Cause
We are a non-profit no-kill animal shelter. We take in abandon animals, stray animals and family pets that are surrendered to us. We also work with rescues to help place animals. We take in dogs from kill shelters to save their lives. We require each animal to be spayed or neutered, before it can be adopted. We have provide a variety of services to our community such as low cost spay and neuter and, personalized pet ID tags, and low cost microchipping All of our animals are under veterinary care during their stay at our shelter. Our goals: -To reduce the number of animals euthanized in our community by providing the animals temporary housing, foster homes, or other suitable venues, until they can be placed in adoptive homes. -To educate the public in areas of humane treatment of animals, the importance of spaying and neutering, the importance of pet adoption to help eliminate the need to euthanize animals due to lack of space in existing shelters and humane societies. -To work with other humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public, and governmental agencies to offer relief from pet overpopulation. -To provide medical care to all animals in PCHS custody, through local veterinarians. -To grow Pope County Humane Society to fit the needs of our community
