About This Cause

The Martin County Humane Society (MCHS) operates the Carl Nettifee Memorial Animal Shelter in Fairmont, MN. The main purpose of MCHS is to help the local homeless companion animals. This purpose of helping the animals is done in many ways. The most obvious and direct help MCHS provides is to care for the stray animals in Martin County and to find them homes if they are not claimed by their owners. MCHS also takes owner surrenders when space allows. MCHS also helps companion animals through education of the public in animal care and welfare issues. MCHS has also obtained grants to help spay and neuter non-shelter cats at either very reduced prices or free. The welfare of companion animals is the driving purpose of MCHS.
