Wild and Free Wildlife Program

GARRISON, Minnesota, 56450-0241 United States

Mission Statement

We are a non-profit organization that is committed to professionally rehabilitate wildlife, to educate the community and to promote the conservation of the natural environment.

About This Cause

We have been in the Garrison, MN area since 1990. Dr. Debbie Eskedahl and Dr. Katie Baratto are the veterinarians at the Garrison Animal Hospital who assess and determine the treatment protocol for every wild animal that is surrendered to Wild and Free. They both hold a Master Permit in Wildlife Rehabilitation from the DNR and permits from US Fish and Wildlife. We provide food, shelter, medical and surgical care to hundreds of animals annually. In 2024, we received over 1100 animals! We have a very dedicated group of trained volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year to help care for injured and orphaned wildlife, keep the rehabilitation facility clean and well maintained, and help with fundraising. It truly takes a village! In addition, we provide educational programs for schools and special interest groups. We believe that education is the key to understanding and supporting our wildlife. Our programs are supported by membership dues, fundraising and donations.
