Mission Statement

VocalPoint creates concerts and programs to raise awareness about the work of partner charity organizations.

About This Cause

VocalPoint is an intense choral experience that challenges people through music to build a better world. We donate 100% of performance-driven donations to a worthy cause that will make a dramatic impact in everyday lives. We have worked with such gifted musicians as Maria Jette, Steve Staruch, KrisAnne Weiss, Jearlyn Steele and Copper Street Brass Quintet. We have supported the work of Open Arms of Minnesota, Avenues for Homeless Youth, and Neighborhood House in our first three seasons. Highlights include hosting panels of the AIDS Quilt, singing and hosting in our homes the youth from the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota , being dazzled by the puppets of In the Heart of the Beast and commissioning a piece by Abbie Betinis. Our 2015 concerts supported the work of The Advocates for Human Rights, specifically their work on behalf of women both locally and around the globe. Violence against women and girls is the most pervasive human rights violation in the world today. The concerts included powerful dance by Zenon Dance Company, mezzo-soprano Nicole Warner, dancer and circus performer Chimgee Haltarhuu and the poetry of Maya Angelou read by Nothando Zulu, President of the Black Storytellers Alliance.
