Mission Statement

Breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Because the future of America's children should be determined solely by their talent, motivation and effort.

About This Cause

College Possible is making college admission and success possible for low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support. The Degree Gap: A FOUR-YEAR DEGREE is the surest pathway out of poverty, but only 8.3 PERCENT of students from low-income families earn one by the age of 24, making them 9 TIMES LESS LIKELY to earn a degree than their higher-income peers. This is not only an injustice: a poorly educated workforce damages America's economy. Every year, there are 240,000 qualified low-income high school seniors who don't go to college. WE CAN BRIDGE THE GAP Founded in Minnesota in 2000, and replicated in five cities across the nation, College Possible has helped thousands of low-income youth achieve their educational goals. Our intensive, tailored coaching and support of low-income high school and college students has yielded unprecendented results, making us a nationally recognized leader in combating the achievement gap. RESULTS: -- College Possible students score 22% higher on the ACT -- 98% of our students earn admission to college -- Once enrolled, our students graduate at 5 times the rate of their low-income peers
