Our Mission: To empower women with tools to work their way out of poverty, care for their families, and strengthen their communities.
About This Cause
We believe all women deserve the opportunity to live free from poverty. Collaborating with global partners, we fund microloans, training, and services that enable women to start businesses, support their families, and strengthen their communities. * Our Vision: * Women's Empowerment (WE) envisions a world without poverty in which women are empowered, uplifted, and equal partners in society. Women live in safe, sustainable environments that include adequate food, water, housing, education and health care. They possess the tools to provide for themselves and their families and they have the hope, opportunity and ability to control their lives and futures. * Our Programs & Services: * In partnership with high-impact nonprofit organizations, WE funds small business loans, training, education, and other innovative poverty alleviation strategies. WE also serves its community of supporters by offering education, engagement opportunities, and the chance to financially support a trusted portfolio of carefully-researched, impactful poverty-alleviation programs benefitting women and families. * Who We Serve: * WE supports women experiencing poverty locally and around the world, focusing funding on economic approaches that support women in extreme need in places that are under-resourced or where other assistance is non-existent. WE currently funds programs in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico), Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Uganda.
