Mission Statement

The New Jersey Children’s Alliance promotes hope, healing and justice for child abuse victims by supporting Child Advocacy Centers throughout the state with training, resources, advocacy, and leadership.

About This Cause

The New Jersey Children’s Alliance (NJCA), the State Chapter of the National Children’s Alliance, provides support, training and technical assistance to New Jersey’s Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) and Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs). Our vision is that every child in New Jersey will have access to a CAC, which aims to ensure that children are not revictimized by the very system designed to protect them. Children’s Advocacy Centers have been shown to promote hope, healing, and justice for child abuse victims. CACs offer a child-focused way of serving abused children through a comprehensive approach to services for victims and their families. These programs are designed by professionals and volunteers responding to the needs of their own communities. Children’s Advocacy Centers stress coordination of investigation and intervention services by bringing together professionals and agencies as a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to create a child-focused approach to child abuse cases. CACs use evidence-based, child-centered practices through forensic interviews, medical evaluations, trauma focused mental health care, and victim advocacy.
