DREAM CENTER FOUNDATION A CALIFORNIA NON PROFIT CORPORATION

Mission Statement

The Dream Center mantra is "find a need and fill it, find a hurt and heal it". We cannot fill every need but, in our effort to help as many people as possible, we have created a variety of programs to meet needs that have been widely recognized as chronic problems in our community, such as homelessness, poverty, addiction, hunger, abuse and lack of education. Our mission is to connect broken people (socially and economically marginalized) to a community of support by offering free resources and services that address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of poverty, addiction, and abuse.

About This Cause

The Dream Center was founded in 1994 by Tommy and Matthew Barnett as a response to the vast needs caused by poverty, addiction, and crime in Los Angeles. Two years later, the Dream Center purchased the former Queen of Angels Hospital campus, comprised of nearly 400,000 square feet of facility space on approximately nine acres in the heart of inner-city Los Angeles. After completion of a 20-year building and renovation project, all of the Dream Center's floors became operational, expanding the Dream Center's capacity to help more people than ever before. Today, the Dream Center reaches over 50,000 people every month, with many accessing multiple services and provides transitional housing to over 700 full-time residents.
