About This Cause
Hope Ministries provides food, clothing, shelter and long-term life-recovery for homeless and hungry men, women and children in Des Moines and central Iowa. We currently operate the following ministry centers: Bethel Mission: 110-bed men's emergency shelter, open since 1915 Door of Faith: 102-bed men's long-term life-recovery center, open since 1969 Hope Center for Women and Children: 48-bed facility offering short-term programming and long-term life-recovery for single mothers and women with children, open since 2004 Hope Cafe: community dining hall serving three free meals to every day of the year ENCORE Thrift Store: offering low-cost clothing, furniture, shoes, household goods and more
