Mission Statement
Wildwood Hills Ranch exists to transform lives and strengthen communities, by providing healing, hope and God’s unconditional love to children and youth at risk.
About This Cause
Wildwood partners with 40+ community partners across the state of Iowa that refer children to us, including Department of Human Services, Boys & Girls Club, School Districts, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, etc. Wildwood Hills Ranch offers year-round character and leadership development programming to over 1,000 at-risk children from across Iowa. Wildwood is a new world for the children we serve. Their possibilities expand immediately as children experience our 400-acre, safe, beautiful retreat. This is the ideal setting for children to learn new life skills and gain the confidence necessary to escape the cycles of poverty, abuse and neglect that they face. The children served may suffer from physical and/or sexual abuse, neglect, parental drug and alcohol abuse, gang violence, instability in family relationships and the absence of one or both parents, many are in foster care. The Ranch provides an opportunity for at-risk children to learn love, hope and new life skills through positive role modeling and hands-on experiences. Throughout each phase of Wildwood Hills Ranch programming, children engage with well-trained, caring staff and volunteers who are willing to communicate a message of hope, demonstrate love, and model character traits that will help each child move forward on a path to a brighter future.
