About This Cause

The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides financial resources for youth development through 4-H. 4-H members receive a minimum of six hours of experiential education each year. Iowa 4-H youth programs address the needs of young people by focusing on their strengths and capacities while emphasizing the importance of youth and adults working together for positive change. 4-H members also develop leadership, citizenship, and communication skills that they can use throughout their life. A comprehensive study by Tufts University shows that 4-H successfully strengthens young people, their families, and their communities. Young people who participate in 4-H achieve higher grades, are more likely to go to college, and are more likely to make healthy living choices. The Iowa 4-H Foundation is committed to providing opportunities and financial assistance to help youth participate in 4-H. In fiscal year 2018, the Iowa 4-H Foundation provided nearly $1 million in direct support to 4-H youth programs and opportunities statewide.
