Mission Statement
The mission of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis is to serve, support and celebrate the lives of all individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We envision an inclusive community where all people with Down syndrome can achieve their full potential.
About This Cause
In 1970, seven mothers of children with Down syndrome held their first meeting to discuss thoughts and ideas about the health, life and well-being of their families. Today we serve over 2,200 individuals with Down syndrome in the Greater St. Louis Region, including all of Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. We serve individuals with Ds of all ages - from the moment of diagnosis at birth through end of life. DSAGSL provides educational, therapeutic, skill-building and social programs for people with Down syndrome as well as support, benefits navigations, workshops and community connection events for families across the region. DSAGSL envisions a world in which all people with Ds can reach their full potential. The DSAGSL is proud to be an efficient steward of your donation, as evidenced by our continued A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau. We currently meet all 20 BBB Accountability Standards, and intend to keep that status intact. We are also accredited by the Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action professional association and are proud partners of United Way of Greater St. Louis.
