Mission Statement
The Northland Early Education Center’s (NEEC) mission is to provide early education and early intervention for children who have special needs and typical needs in a fully inclusive classrooms, so every child can reach their full potential.
About This Cause
Northland Early Education Center (NEEC) is a unique early education center where young children, birth to 5 from all backgrounds, all developmental and all socioeconomic levels, receive quality, fully inclusive early education and therapy services. This environment provides children with special needs the opportunity to learn by watching and imitating their peers and teaching children who are typically developing the important life lessons of diversity, compassion and acceptance. In this setting, children with special needs are often able to reach developmental milestones ahead of schedule, while providing children who are typically developing the self-confidence they need to be successful in public school and beyond. With lower than state mandated student to teacher ratios, NEEC follows the Project Construct Curriculum model. Teachers use students’ interests to motivate and engage children in learning, encourage children to work together, allow children to take initiative, express opinions, make choices, and assess children’s thinking in order to teach more effectively. NEEC also provides physical and occupational therapies, speech and language pathology and special instruction through its Early Intervention Services (EIS) program for children with special needs age’s birth to 5. NEEC’s therapists provide these therapy services on-site for children enrolled in the program or in–home for children in the Northland who are unable to attend the pre-school. The primary objective of the EIS program is to ensure that all children with special needs reach their full potential and transition into their least restrictive environment.
