About This Cause
Southeast Linn Community Center's Senior Programs include meal delivery to homebound seniors each weekday and congregate dining twice a week. Both programs are provided through a partnership with Horizons. Volunteers drive local seniors to medical appointments. Senior transportation is provided by volunteers. Senior programming also includes enrichment activities such as bingo and speaker presentations. A weekly full-choice, no limit food pantry is available for households facing economic challenges. SELCC also serves as a partner for HACAP's Operation BackPack program for Lisbon schools. This program provides nutritious, easy to prepare snacks and meals for low-income children every Friday during the school year. For youth, SELCC provides free activities on Lisbon early out days, as well as a variety of free activities, summer meals and enrichment classes throughout the summer. Freestyle Clothing Exchange offers new and gently-used clothing for all ages. This program is open to all Lisbon and Mount Vernon residents with no income restrictions. Crisis assistance is available to provide a one-time help with rent or utility bills. Seasonal programs include; a summer school supply drive, summer snack packs for kids, Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes, Adopt-a-Family holiday gifts, family pool passes and Parks and Rec program scholarships. Southeast Linn Community Center also has a community garden where volunteers grow produce for the food pantry. The facility is also used as a free meeting location for several community groups. A certified kitchen is available for use by the community. The facility and the kitchen are also available for rent for parties and events.
