About This Cause
SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation - Madison is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that supports SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Madison and SSM Health St. Mary’s Care Center by partnering with grateful patients, families and others in our community to support our healing mission. Through the funding of focused initiatives, we have a unique opportunity to help SSM Health St. Mary’s provide exceptional patient care through new technologies, clinical equipment, and staff education. SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation is governed by a board of directors, which includes the Hospital President, Foundation Executive Director, current and retired members of medical staff, and a diverse group of community leaders. SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation seeks to provide funding for initiatives where we find a common interest between our generous donor community and a need within the SSM Health St. Mary’s organization. The Foundation works closely with the hospital to identify initiatives that align with our mission and require funding outside the operating budget. The Foundation also works to grow a number of named endowments that provide annual funding for initiatives such as nursing scholarships, and direct patient & family care. The Foundation makes significant financial disbursements and commitments each year. During this time of unprecedented change in the health care industry, philanthropic financial support plays an increasingly important role in SSM Health St. Mary’s mission of providing exceptional care. SSM Health St. Mary’s is emerging as a successful leader in the complex regulatory environment. As the hospital’s partner in exceptional care, SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation plays a significant role at SSM Health St. Mary’s and in the community as our focus on preventing disease and promoting health continues to expand.
