About This Cause
Our History: Fraser, Ltd. is the longest serving non-profit organization in North Dakota. It was established in 1893 as the Florence Crittenton Home for unwed mothers. Since its inception, Fraser, Ltd. continues to meet the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Services and resources offered at Fraser, Ltd. have grown significantly to include independent living support, residential services and day support services for people with disabilities; childcare services for children who are typically developing and children with special needs; and transitional youth services which provide skill training and basic needs resources for transition age youth (16-26). Our success is due in part to the dedication of the individuals who unselfishly donate their time and expertise. Fraser Child Care Center provides a safe and healthy learning environment in an inclusive setting in which children with special needs and typically developing children learn and grow together. Transitional Youth Services (TYS) represents three unique programs, Stepping Stones Resource Center, the Transitional Living /Emergency Shelter Program, and Permanent Supportive Housing. It is the goal of these programs to fill the need of sheltering and housing options, basic needs, life skills education and advocacy services for transitioning young adults ages 16 - 26 who are homeless or are at risk of being homeless. Independent Living Services promotes education, advocacy, and active treatment for people with intellectual disabilities by providing supportive services in a residential environment. The goal of this program is to integrate community-based residential support, comprehensive life skills development, and volunteer opportunities promoting community inclusion for adults living with intellectual disabilities.
