Mission Statement
Oak Grove is a Early Learning - 12 ELCA school. The mission of Oak Grove Lutheran School is to express God's love by nurturing students for academic achievement, lifelong Christian commitment and loving service throughout the world.
About This Cause
Located in north Fargo along the Red River, Oak Grove was established in 1906 by the Lutheran Free Church as a Christian high school (seminary) for girls. In 1926 the first young men were accepted and the school became Oak Grove Lutheran Seminary. Our name was changed in 1952 to Oak Grove Lutheran High School. In 1978 a junior high was added and in 1998 6th grade was added to develop a middle school. In 2005 an elementary school located in south Fargo was opened. Today we serve students in our Early Learning Center to 12th grade. Oak Grove provides a fully accredited K - 12 academic program and studies integrate Christian faith perspectives into the curriculum, equipping students with values for lifelong Christian service. Our enrollment for 2015 - 2016 includes 98 children in the Early Learning Center; 234 in K-5; 116 in the middle school and 173 in grades 9-12. Oak Grove maintains high academic standards including Advanced Placement classes and dual credit opportunities with Concordia College, Moorhead. As Oak Grove continues to grow and expand, we remain rooted in our mission and shared values. We thrive on personal relationship and strong role models, caring for each person as a child of God; we grow as a community that welcomes new people and ideas; we challenge each other to be people who confidently live out God's call to show honesty and integrity in all that we say and do; we encourage exploration and development of our God-given gifts; we embrace the intersection of faith and reason through knowledge and understanding while seeking to know and trust in God's creative power; we transform ourselves and the world around us by loving and serving our neighbors, imitating Christ in our thoughts, words, and actions.
