Mission Statement

The Perry Center is a residential home with a Christ-centered approach dedicated to supporting and instilling hope in women facing an unexpected pregnancy – addressing their spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional needs.

About This Cause

The Perry Center is a 501c3 non profit residential program for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The program was established in North Dakota in September, 1986. The Perry Center has built relationships with local colleges & universities for interns from programs such as social work, nursing and occasionally business interns. We have also built an extensive volunteer program where first priority is one-on-one mentors for the resident, and then volunteers for painting, yard work, giving rides to residents, cleaning, bringing in dinner for an evening of games or crafts and so much more. We also throughout the year welcome volunteers projects for one person or larger groups. These are scheduled through staff on a regular basis. Residents are also required to do at least one volunteer experience at another nonprofit agency in the community each month during their stay at The Perry Center. We accept women roughly between the ages of 12-30 that are pregnant and desire to take the time to prepare themselves for motherhood. The Perry Center is a program, not a shelter, where certain expectations are made of the residents. They have a busy schedule that requires them to participate in family style living as well as being responsible to attend all classes, appointments, and meet with social worker on a regular basis. Daily living skills are taught such as how to ride the bus and find your way around the city, grocery shopping, meal planning, and much more. Residents must agree to follow the rules and actively participate in the program. Placements and referrals are accepted from various counties, schools, churches, and other programs. Women can also apply for placement without any agency referral. Each young woman is assigned a trained mentor for her stay at The Perry Center. We hope this relationship continues long after she leaves.
